What can lookthatup recognize?

lookthatup works great on photos taken of flat objects such as game covers, DVDs, movie posters and paintings, but lookthatup can also recognize wine and beer bottles and other products as long as the content is included in the database. You can also add your own content by signing up for an account on lookthatup.com and creating your own objects.

Why did lookthatup not find any results?

Sometimes lookthatup will not be able to find a matching result to your image search. This could either be because the content is not in the lookhatup database or because of the quality of the image your submitted.

  1. Make sure that the content is included in the lookthatup database here or add content by creating your own objects.
  2. Make sure your photo is not too blurry, taken from a distance and that the lighting is not too dark.

How do I share my searches?

Sharing and bookmarking from the lookhatup iPhone app is a snap.  Sign into your accounts from the info button on the app and use the icons to instantly share on Twitter, Facebook, email.

Are my searches saved? Where can I access them?

When signed into your lookthatup account, all your searches are automatically saved on lookthatup.com. To promote searches to lookups, simply tap the lookthatup icon on the app. Your lookups will appear on your personal lookthatup homepage.

Do I need an iPhone to use lookthatup?

No - you can email your photo to search (at) lookthatup.com or use the 'UPLOAD IMAGE TO SEARCH' button on lookthatup.com

Are my lookups and searches private?

Yes - your searches are not shared with anyone, unless you share them on facebook or twitter yourself.

Can I add my own content to the lookthatup database?

Yes - with a lookthatup account, adding you own content to lookthatup is very easy and takes only a few seconds. Simply log into your account, click on create objects and upload the images you want to add.

Can other people search my objects?

Yes, your created objects are public and other lookthatup users will be able to search your objects.

What is the difference between a lookup, search and an object?

Searches are all the searches you have made with your lookthatup app. Lookups are searches that you have 'bookmarked' and objects are images that your have added to the lookthatup database either by transforming an unrecognized image into an object or by creating objects from images on your computer.
